Prairie Harvest is a specialty food store that concentrates on naturally produced and bulk foods. If you're looking for fresh food or hard-to-find products or trying to care for a special diet, you'll find what you need and more. With about 100 shoppers coming in the door daily and new products arriving weekly, Prairie Harvest keeps changing to meet the needs of Newton and the surrounding communities.

Fresh Produce - Rich color and nutrition flourish in the produce cart and cooler, where you can choose from organic and locally grown produce. We carry a line of staples year-round-e.g., onions, lettuce mixes, apples, potatoes. We also feature, as available, savory seasonal treats that create a feast for the eyes and taste buds-e.g., local blackberries, asparagus, rhubarb, or sculpturesque sweet potatoes.

Bulk - We carry more than 230 bulk items. Many are bagged and ready for you to pick up, and some-particularly spices-are available in bulk containers for you to choose your own amount. For a sampling of our bulk items, click here.

Kansas Products - Lavender soap to elderberry vinegar to small-batch cheeses: these are some of the items to choose from when you buy locally produced foods and gifts. Special Diets - Looking for foods without wheat, corn, dairy or peanuts? We carry more than 45 wheat-free products and numerous grains and flours for wheat-free recipes. Dairy-free ice cream, cheeses, spreads, pizza and "milk" are also available. Click here for a sample list of special diet foods.

Breads and Baked Goods - We bake bread on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Try some oatmeal bread, Milwaukee rye, honey whole wheat or apple-cinnamon swirl, and pick up a bread schedule to find out on what day your favorite is baked. Fresh baked goods such as cinnamon rolls and muffins are also available daily.
