Employee Spotlight:
Co-Owners Becky Nickel and Carrie Van Sickle

An avid baker and cook for more than 20 years, Prairie Harvest co-owner and co-founder, Becky Nickel delights in sampling new store products and integrating them in her recipes.  Having lived overseas for several years, she brings an Asian flair to her choice of food and body care products for the store.  Becky is responsible for juggling the bulk of the ordering for the store, and her ability to recall details and numbers helps keep the store running smoothly. While Becky is familiar with most of the products on the shelves, the delicious organic fruits and vegetables are her favorites.

Carrie Van Sickle started with Prairie Harvest as the manager in July 2003. A July 2005 purchase put her in partnership with Becky. Carrie enjoys working with a staff who are committed to the quality products at Prairie Harvest and who are dedicated to sharing good information with the customers in the store. A native Kansan who delights in the subtle beauty of Kansas and especially the Flint Hills, she learned to cook from her mother, hanging over the stove while waiting for dinner. A degree in Recreation led to a lifestyle of healthy eating and daily physical activity shared by her family. An interest in baking led to the creation of signature desserts and scones, which have her in the Prairie Harvest
kitchen often. Her favorite product is Mountain High Yogurt with granola and fresh organic  fruits for breakfast, or dinner, depending on the day!
