Employee Spotlight: Clara PennerOne of our staff who helps create the warm, inviting atmosphere in the store on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and sometimes Fridays is Clara Penner. While she may not share her smile with you at the counter, she comes in long before the rest of us to begin making bread which smells oh-so-good when you enter the store. Clara came to Prairie Harvest In September of 2006 bringing over 50 years' baking experience. She says she likes to work at Prairie Harvest because it's a friendly place. Her favorite product in the store is Elderberry Juice Concentrate which she credits for keeping her strong and healthy. Road Less Travelled to perform April 26 Doug and Jude Krehbiel will perform at Prairie Harvest for Music and Art in the Heart of Newton on Thursday, April 26, 6:00-8:00 p.m. This duo plays several different instruments in a variety of musical styles combining elements of folk, country, Irish, bluegrass and rhythm and blues. A generous sprinkling of humor will accompany their music. Quietly keeping rhythm as they weave wheat will be artists Martha and Marie Voth. They will demonstrate their wheat weaving techniques and display some current projects. Prairie Harvest Deli will be serving our famous grilled chicken fajitas, 5-7 pm, or while they last.
