Employee Spotlight: Denise Zuercher

Denise began at Prairie Harvest in summer of 2003 bringing her efficiency and warm customer service to the front counter. She wanted to join the Prairie Harvest team because she believes in the emphasis we place on recycling, composting and patronizing other local businesses, as well as the camaraderie of the staff. "All of us come from different places in the community, yet we all get along well together," said Denise.

When not at Prairie Harvest, Denise has been finishing her studies in massage and body work. She is rejuvenated by walks on the Bethel College trails with her husband, Chris, and two dogs.

One of Denise's favorite products is the Sappo Hill Oatmeal Soap; she prefers its gentleness and sans-packaging, but she also spouted off a dozen other products she uses on a daily basis.

As a small, local market we are able to bring in new items regularly.

Among the several new items in the past weeks are:

Liz Lovely Cowboy Cookies and Cowgirl Cookies, delightfully packed in sets of two, these tasty treats contain no cholesteral, no transfats, are low sodium, and free of dairy and eggs.

Koelzer Bee Farm Once a Day Lotion Bars, lip balms and soaps made from beeswax are a new Kansas product . . . move over Burt!

Goji berries, the famous Hiamayan berries which are rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins.

Natural Factors line of supplements including celadrin, RxOmega-3 Factors, a children's probiotic, MenoSense and EstroSense.

Two new bulk granolas join our six favorites to make a total of eight great whole grain breakfast options! New are Strawberry-vanilla-help and Apple-cinnamon.

Bob's Red Mill offers two new gluten-free mixes: cornbread and hearty whole grain bread.
